About Jane Shilton - Jane Shilton is an English brand producing high quality ladies handbags. They are based in London, and have been trading since 1933. Style, quality and value are the guiding principles of the Jane Shilton brand.

They are unusual these days: a British company that is family owned, with an inspiring history and heritage. The company was founded in 1933 when Alexander Shilton, using his knowledge of the leather goods market, set up a handbag company in London. When he went off to war in 1936, the factory-made gas masks and Alex’s Secretary Jane ran everything like clockwork in his absence, despite the building being bombed four times. Alex returned in 1945, married Jane in 1946 and renamed the company ‘Jane Shilton’. The first factory was in Brushfield Street, in the centre of the City of London. The business soon expanded and acquired premises in Beech street also in the city of London, before moving to south west London and a bespoke factory in Peterborough Road, Fulham.

Our headquarters today are still London-based, says Jane, and we still run like clock-work, believing in those old-fashioned values of quality, design, style and service. From timeless classics to catwalk trends, our products are sold worldwide, and our online shop means that these items are available throughout the U.K. We produce a comprehensive range of ladies’ handbags, covering both leather and synthetic fabrications.
