VINTAGE Horse and Carriage Scene (19th Century)

Florentine Embossed Serving Plate
Beautiful vintage round cabinet plate with rim moulded with fruit and flowers surrounding and transferred coaching scene.
It bears the Crown Ducal Florentine mark at the base and would date from the 1930’s.
This is a collectable hand-painted decorative showpiece item in excellent condition (without any chips, cracks or repairs).

During the 19th century, the (top hat) developed from a fashion into a symbol of urban respectability, and this was assured when Prince Albert started wearing them in 1850; the rise in popularity of the silk plush top hat possibly led to a decline in beaver hats, sharply reducing the size of the beaver trapping industry.
