DOILY PRESSER - VINTAGE Old Charm 'Doilies Presser’ (c.1930)
Australian Craft from a bygone era

This vintage wooden ‘Doily Presser’ is handcrafted and colourfully hand painted.
Back then, it was used to store 'Doilies' being; (crocheted and knitted) items in order to keep them flat and crease free.
The ‘Doilies’ were placed in between the two (2) plywood discs, and the ribbons at each end of the discs kept them ‘sandwiched’ in place, and once release, the crocheted and knitted items looked flat as if ironed/pressed.

The Doily Presser now obsolete and just a vintage memory - Yet, you can still use it, or hang it on the wall, or display it as a decorative item at home, a great reminder from a bygone era - The ‘Doily Presser’ comes with a wooden stand.
